"Lady Chatterley's lover in 1928 had a mouth
that easily & grandly enunciated 'fuck'
& 'fucking' & that C-word too I do not here
have the gall to spell (be it 2019) so that Penguin
was tried under the Obscene Publications
Act for printing Lawrence.

2019. And I am as Lady Chatterley in the contents
of my head. And you, my Mellors, raw with me,
prove my mind is not enough.  Despite my books --
stunning from staircase to bed -- I am as animal.
So fuck my dresses, they oppress.  Fuck
my books.  Fuck me on top of them on the staircase
till we roll down the floor -- laughing
at our useless learning. Because the body
is privileged, is the aristocrat."
